The reason I hadn't entered an OVFF song contest is none of the topics gave me an idea to work up. This one did. It was perhaps a bit wide of the spirit of the topic.

This morning I go to follow her path

Burster lights become eels zooming by
Between shocking glimpses of close coral walls

And the music drowned my ears
The world is a transparent coral
And all of us are lights
In the swirling eye that watches us
I was coming apart from inside
The water turned around
And brought me home, broken

I almost swam
Beyond the sea
Our world is but a jewel
Now my eyes don’t see burster glow
But I remember the glorious light
Of the face that filled the sky
And I tell the young ones there is
A God and She is watching us
Her water will lift off the weight of the world

The place where my eyes saw their last light
